This paper introduces FinAI Data Assistant, a system that uses large language models with the OpenAI Function Calling API to process natural language queries over financial databases. It offers a more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to traditional text-to-SQL methods for accessing market and fundamental financial data.
